Dr. Bill Prescott serves as a Clinical Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and is a faculty member in the school’s Division of Education and Teaching Innovation. He earned his PharmD from the University at Buffalo in 2002, and then completed PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Pediatric Specialty residencies at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers from 2002-2004. He has served in several leadership positions at the University at Buffalo, most notably as department Vice-Chair from 2012-2017 and Department Chair since 2017. Dr. Prescott is an active member of the AACP and is currently serving on the AJPE Editorial Board.
Dr. Prescott has been the recipient of several pharmacy awards, including the Alumni of the Year Award from the school’s chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma in 2009 and 2023, the Alumni of the Year Award from the school’s chapter of Rho Chi in 2019, the UB-SPPS Teacher of the Year Award in 2007 and 2011, the Albert E. Rosica Jr. Memorial Award (for outstanding contributions to pharmacy education) from the American College of Apothecaries in 2013, the UB Teaching Innovation Award in 2015, and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2017. Dr. Prescott was a Mid-American Conference Academic Leadership Development Program Fellow in 2019-2020.
