Dr. Miki Goldwire received her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Texas, an M.S. in Drug Information and Communications from the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy, and a Pharm.D. from Idaho State University. She completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and a 2-year fellowship in Drug Information at the Arnold Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy. After completion of her fellowship, she was an Assistant Professor in Drug Information for the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy. Upon moving to Texas, Dr. Goldwire worked as the Clinical Coordinator for Drug Information at Texas Children’s Hospital where she developed materials for drug formulary review, medication use review, and policy review; she also edited and published the bimonthly Pharmacy and Therapeutics Newsletter as well as the biennial drug formulary. Dr. Goldwire left hospital pharmacy practice for industry as a Clinical Science Manager specializing in arthritis and pain for Pharmacia. After a move to Denver, Dr. Goldwire worked as a Senior Clinical Content Specialist under the Editorial Department of Thompson Micromedex where she reviewed written content and provided constructive feedback to writers. Dr. Goldwire is currently Professor and Director of Drug Information at Regis University School of Pharmacy and serves as a consultant for Centura Health Systems by supporting Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities. In addition, Dr. Goldwire preceptors introductory and advanced pharmacy practice students and teaches drug information, literature evaluation, and evidence-based medicine.
