Tim Stratton, PhD, RPh, FAPhA is Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, Duluth. He received his BS in Pharmacy from Idaho State University in 1980. Tim then completed an ASHP-accredited hospital pharmacy residency at Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson, and earned an MS in Hospital Pharmacy and a PhD in Pharmacy Administration from The University of Arizona. After completing his training but prior starting his career in academia in 1989, Tim practiced community, hospital and long-term care pharmacy in the Southeast Alaska frontier communities of Sitka and Wrangell. He has also practiced as a relief pharmacist at Indian Health Service/Tribal Health clinics in Alaska, eastern Montana and Minnesota. Prior to coming to the University of Minnesota in 2004, Tim was on the pharmacy faculties at The University of British Columbia and The University of Montana-Missoula. He currently teaches Ethics, Statistics and Rural Pharmacy. He also supervises Pharmacy and Medicine students at the interprofessional student-run free HOPE Clinic that operates out of a homeless shelter in downtown Duluth. At Minnesota Tim served from 2013-2021 as Senior Associate to the Dean for Assessment/Program Evaluation and Accreditation, and was a member of the Big 10 Pharmacy Assessment Collaborative. He then served as the Interim Senior Associate Dean for the college on the Duluth campus from 2021-2022.
