Sharon E. Connor is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy where she is the director of the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for Underserved Populations, the co-director of the Area of Concentration in Global Health and site director of the Global Health Pharmacy Residency. She graduated from Creighton University with a B.A. in psychology and a Pharm.D. Her teaching experience includes coordinating community health and service-learning courses for pharmacy students in addition to precepting students and residents in the clinical setting. She participates in the scholarship of teaching and learning to assess student educational outcomes and has received funding for her work in assessing student learning involving cultural competency, health disparities, health equity and the social determinants of health through qualitative and quantitative research. Her clinical work involves providing comprehensive pharmacy services in free health care clinics in the Pittsburgh area in partnership with Health Care for the Homeless. She collaborates with community partners in building pharmacy programs to enhance access to medications in health care safety-net settings. Her research with community partners focuses on innovative programs that promote preventive health care in resource-limited settings globally and locally.
