Candice L. Garwood, Pharm.D. is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Detroit, MI. She is also an Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Garwood provides clinical service, as well as education for PharmD students and pharmacy residents, the Rosa Parks Geriatric Clinic at the DMC. She is the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program Director at the DMC. In the Rosa Parks clinic, she provides anticoagulation management and pharmacotherapy services. Her practice and research includes the use of high risk medications, especially the use of anticoagulants, in special populations. In the Pharm.D. curriculum, Dr. Garwood coordinates the cardiology and nephrology module course and she co-coordinates an anticoagulation elective course. She co-developed and presents for the Medication Safety Interprofessional Education Sessions for third year pharmacy and medical students.
