Graduate Admissions Coordinator Belmont University Nashville, Tennessee, United States
Objective : Increase enrollment and retain more applicants throughout the enrollment funnel with the implementation of new recruitment initiatives that demonstrate an investment in students and the profession.
Methods: We implemented four new enrollment strategies this year: (1) the development of recruiting partnerships with Belmont’s Frist College of Medicine & Pre-Health advising, (2) pre-interview scholarship calculations, (3) the introduction of class observation opportunities, and (4) tuition reduction initiatives that significantly offset our program cost. Our results were measured through the evaluation of weekly enrollment data for the 2022 and 2023 application cycles.
Results: As of March 22, 2023, the College of Pharmacy retained 36% more candidates in the application process over the same date in the 2022 admissions cycle. Our yield rate increased to 49% in 2023 over 43% in 2022 for the same week.
Conclusions: Implementing more targeted yield strategies and proactive outreach improved our retention of applications through the interview process. A greater number of applicants have participated in the interview process in comparison to the same week in 2022, and our deposit numbers are proportionate to last year’s cycle at this timeframe.
