Objective : To utilize COAP results to identify specific areas of improvement and establish students' remediation plans.
Methods: Formative and summative assessments within COAP are identified from courses and practice experiences. Data is analyzed for formative actions in January and for summative purposes in June. A findings report is generated and sent to the Assessment Committee to analyze results and for referral to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Results: The Office of Academic Affairs evaluates formative results and recommendations and refers to the corresponding committees. Committees develop plans of action to address the identified areas of improvement and students' need for remediation during the academic year.
Conclusions: Through the continued evaluation of COAP results, students’ need for remediation is timely addressed. These formative actions guided educational decisions to identify students’ educational gaps, as well as to confirm what students have learned. Therefore, implementing the COAP contributes to achieving the mission, vision, and goals of the School’s Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
